Where To Find Volleyball Practice In The Summer!

It’s that time to practice volleyball!

When you start practicing volleyball, the task can be daunting. You may not know what to do, you may not know any of the skills and you may not even know anyone on the team (or court!). That’s okay! There is one crucial thing that you have to remember when you start playing. That is that volleyball is a team sport and that everyone has started from somewhere! We all started as a beginner and you are now are too! In this blog post, I am going to give you some tips on where to start looking to start your volleyball practice journey.

Recreational Centers in Your Area

This is also a great way to make friends!

The recreation center is a great place to start looking for some time on the court. My coach used to say to me, “any net time is a good time.” I would have to agree with her! Any net time is a good time! When you start playing at a recreational center, you have the chance to not only meet others that are around you who are interested in playing. You will also get some time to work on basic skills and start building that strong foundation of volleyball skills. Take a look at your local recreational center in your area, a YMCA, YWCA, or even some camps!

College Teams Near You

You too can dance at a volleyball camp.

College volleyball teams are known to throw volleyball camps for the students and players to give back to the community. Many teams have week-long camps that go on during the summer and school breaks! This is a great way for you to get some intense training with the college coaches, meet the players, and meet some players who may be intermediate/higher level. Remember that learning the sport requires a ton of practice and not all volleyball practice is going to be easy.

Private Volleyball Coach

Start that volleyball practice now!

Now I know that I am a bit biased, however, I do believe that working one-on-one with a private coach is a great way to excel in your skills. A one-on-one coach can pinpoint your skill issues early and help you adjust those issues. They can also help you build that foundation a bit stronger in the beginning. That means that when you DO become a part of a team you can start building onto that great foundation.
